Tangerine Software announces the release of Nectari Version 5
Tangerine Software is pleased to announce the release of Nectari Version 5, the most complete and advanced version of Nectari to date. One of the major new features in Nectari v5 is the ability to access multiple data sources. Other enhancements are described below.
Nectari BI is a comprehensive, fully integrated, easy to use Business Intelligence solution that provides organizations of any size self-service access to critical business information. Its architecture delivers an integration ready platform that delivers business intelligence within an organization’s business processes. Nectari v5 is a result of Tangerine Software's continued R&D objective to have Nectari recognized as a world-class BI solution.
New in Nectari v5
This new version includes these advances:
Enhanced Command Center allows users to create and/or open processes and views whose data is stored in different database systems on different servers of differing platforms in a completely transparent manner. Imagine navigating to your sales data, stored in SQL Server on a Windows server, and opening a graph displaying your sales for the current year. Now imagine being able to drill all the way down to the sales invoice level and link directly to your shipping system data, which is stored in DB2 on an i5 server, to find a tracking number for an invoice.
New user and group management: Maintain group membership and user/group authorizations using Nectari’s new management system. This new tool provides complete and easy to read details about the authorizations, memberships, published objects for individuals and groups.
Nectari Enterprise Server: Tangerine Software has bundled an enterprise level server package which now includes a Central Point for shared process development and use, web access to your enterprise data using Nectari Web, report distribution through Nectari Distribution, and integration in real-time of Nectari process data in Microsoft Excel using Nectari Add-in for Excel.
Native IBM DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server database access: Define multiple Nectari Data Sources within an Environment that can point to a DB2 database on an i5 server or SQL Server database on a Windows machine. Then build Nectari processes associated with these data sources. Nectari uses native providers to access the data fast and efficiently.
Easy to expand the database access capabilities to include other database systems: Tangerine Software has developed a completely new framework on which Nectari v5 has been developed. This new framework was developed to be able to support an unlimited number of different database systems with ease. If your enterprise data is stored in a database system not currently available by Nectari let us know. We’ll include it in a future release.
Nectari Central Point Administration Utility: Using this tool, administrators can now more easily manage the configuration of their central point, its environments and data sources.
Shared prompt definitions: Creating a prompt is no different than creating a process. The exciting news is that these prompts are now shareable across all your processes. This will save you time when creating new processes, as well as when you need to update a prompt across all of your existing processes.
Audit and usage statistics: This feature tracks usage of your processes and views so you know how often they are being used and by whom. It also tracks the dates and users making changes to processes and views so you know when and who made changes to your system. You will know if a process is not being used by your end users, enabling you to ask why and help them become more efficient.
Enhanced Nectari Add-in for Excel: With the new advances made in Nectari v5, users can now more than ever easily and securely build adhoc reports that access data in real-time across multiple disciplines, servers, database systems and even platforms.
